One thing mentioned in our last meeting was the fact that parents, prospective parents, and community members often hear myths, rumors, and bits of information about JCPS that nobody seems to be able to confirm or deny and either create confusion for the parents or a bad impression of the district.
I mentioned that in the process of choosing a school, you often hear that there are certain elementary or middle schools you MUST attend if you even want a chance to get into a certain high school.
Someone else mentioned the fact that they had heard that your second middle school choice is essentially meaningless because if you pick a school as your second choice, they won't even look at you as part of their selection process.
Additionally, I know in my own experience with JCPS, there are often times when I have asked a question about certain programs or schools and received conflicting or confusing answers.
So if you could ask JCPS anything and have it answered as definitively as possible, what would it be? What rumors are out there that you think JCPS needs to provide guidance on? Answer in the comments or e-mail me at [email protected]. I will pass them along to Christi Lanier-Robinson, Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations at JCPS.
