BUT......
JCPS still needs to provide parents and the community with better information surrounding these crashes. Some things I'd like to know:
- What are the details behind the accidents this year? Who was at fault and what factors led to the accidents?
- What plans does JCPS have in place if there is a bus accident? What do parents need to know regarding who to contact about their child, where they'll be taken in the event of an emergency, and how will JCPS notify them?
- Even if JCPS isn't at fault, have changes in bus routes, or incentives or pressures on drivers to complete routes more quickly led to these crashes? I see a LOT of buses having to pull out to turn left across busy four lane roads during the busiest times of the day. Are there smarter routes that are safer, but perhaps longer?
