It seemed like a curious response for a group who stated they want to improve education in Kentucky. Especially a group that seems so intent upon bashing teacher's unions and other special interests.
I decided to post again under my cat's account (sad, but yes, I had one) to ask why they deleted my comments and banned me from commenting. Again my comments were deleted, but this time I received a call from a representative, apparently speaking on behalf of Kids First. He wanted to talk to me on the phone. I advised him that I preferred to have the discussion via e-mail. He declined.
If anyone from these groups wishes to respond or have an open discussion about the matter on the record here, I'm more than willing to listen and allow their comments to stand in full, (assuming there are no personal attacks of individuals) a luxury that they refused to afford me in their Facebook forum. Personally, I'd love to hear about the experiences of the individuals involved and their children within the JCPS system and their personal recommendations for improvement, as well as their analysis of the problems of JCPS and how charter schools will address these problems. I'm not saying charter schools won't work better. But I'd love for them to convince me with more than generalities and the promise that simply trying something different means a better result.
The comments are open here, or they can e-mail me at [email protected].
