"WLKY compared JCPS to the next largest district in Kentucky, Fayette County, and found there was one bus crash for every 277 JCPS students who rode the bus last year.
Fayette county fared much better, with only one crash for every 607 students.
But after accounting for the number of miles driven, JCPS buses were in fewer crashes with one for every 70,000 bus miles driven, compared with every 50,000 miles in Fayette County."
Simply changing the assignment plan isn't necessarily going to cut down on the number of accidents, but I'd like to know that JCPS and police are investigating these accidents thoroughly and looking at how routes, driver habits, and factors on the road could have played a part in these accidents.
